McMahon Services needed a durable and professional-grade flooring for their Brisbane warehouse. The flooring had to withstand heavy machinery, constant foot traffic, and maintain its finish amid demanding operational conditions. Time was of the essence, as delays could impact productivity. They sought a team that could deliver exceptional results on a tight deadline without compromising quality.
Surfex stepped in with their proven expertise in flooring applications, utilising the Deckshield ID system. The team began with surface preparation, ensuring the warehouse floor was ready for the application. To create a lasting foundation, Flowprime AU was applied to the concrete substrate, with additional attention focused on high-traffic areas, particularly near the rear doors. A slip-resistant
aggregate was incorporated in these areas, resulting in a light non-slip finish that enhanced safety.
Once the concrete was primed, the Surfex team applied Flowcoat OP as the intermediate layer, followed by a final coating of Deckshield UV in the sleek colour Bridge Grey N44. This combination ensured not only durability but also a professional finish that aligned with McMahon Services’ operational and aesthetic goals.
Despite the 1,160m² scope of the project, Surfex completed the installation within an impressive four days. After curing, warehouse operations were able to resume seamlessly without any issues.
The use of Flowcrete Australia’s Deckshield ID system resulted in a highly durable, slip-resistant, and visually appealing floor that could endure the rigours of daily operations. Even in the most demanding areas of the warehouse, the flooring maintained its integrity and finish.
