Eco-Friendly Resin Selected For Oran Park Raceway

Flowcrete Australia’s decorative epoxy resin floor finish, Kristalina, has been chosen for the flooring of the new Sales and Information hub located in the Sydney Oran Park Raceway, which is currently under redevelopment.

The raceway is predicted to create a complete community for an estimated 50,000 to 100,000 people over the next 20 years and the sales and information point for the public is housed in a central building on the Greenfield site.

The developers wanted a floor finish that would have the capacity to withstand considerable pedestrian traffic but that simultaneously enhanced the aesthetic and required minimum maintenance. The main walk zones and café area also needed flooring that would be easy to clean.

After initially considering polished concrete, the highly decorative resin floor finish from Flowcrete was chosen for the project.

The Kristalina system was formulated in a special blend of colours to deliver a look that simulated polished concrete but with a consistent blend of aggregates and also capable of handling any dry shrinkage cracking in the underlying slab.

The eco-friendly resin floor finishes are solvent-free and low in VOC emissions. Following installation of the Kristalina, the floor was coated with a water-based polyurethane sealer in a satin finish.

Flowcrete Australia, who has its base in Brisbane, QLD was delighted to have been selected for the project.
