Located in downtown Beirut in the heart of the prime business and social district, the Intercontinental Phoenicia Hotel is well-reputed for its high standard of banqueting and is a popular venue for business and social functions.
The kitchens servicing the Hotel’s banqueting halls often produce in excess of 3,000 meals per service and as such these areas are in use around the clock and the flooring subject to heavy duty treatment.
When embarking on a refurbishment of these kitchens, the client and consultant were looking for a long-lasting flooring solution that would prevent the need for future decommissioning of the area for prolonged periods. Following evaluation of a number of options, Flowcrete's Flowfresh MF was selected based on its superior performance in hygiene maintenance.
Unlike conventional flooring such as ceramic tiles, where dirt can build up in the joints, the seamless finish of Flowfresh promotes a much higher standard of hygiene and is easy to clean. The tough polyurethane Flowfresh resin also incorporates an active antimicrobial agent that delivers added protection against a range of harmful bacteria including MRSA, E-coli and Salmonella Typhi. These qualities and the anti-slip finish make Flowfresh MF the flooring of choice for ensuring a safe, hygienic environment.
Flowcrete's ability to deliver the polyurethane screed system within a four-week lead time was a further advantage over alternative flooring systems.
