Ross Llewellyn Motors is a family-run business with a long history in the automotive industry. In 2008, the firm added a new workshop to its growing facility in Ipswich, East Brisbane, Australia, designed to provide 12 new workshop bays and a large spare parts storage area.
To protect its new asset, Ross Llewellyn Motors required a seamless high gloss floor finish suitable for the operational environment, while improving the level of light within the facility. Flowcrete Australia was contacted and asked to provide a suitable specification to meet the client's requirements.
Flowcrete specified its tried and test automotive specification, Flowcoat OP. The hard-wearing system is a seamless, solvent free epoxy resin coating with integral anti-slip properties.
Firstly, the concrete was mechanically prepared to remove any contaminants and provide a key for the resin flooring.
The Flowcoat OP was then installed, followed by a top coat of Flowseal UV, providing a UV stable, highly chemical and abrasion resistant sealer, ideal for a workshop environment.
