Mt Gravatt TAFE

TAFE Queensland Mt Gravatt campus offers a large range of courses including accounting, business, hospitality, education support, English language studies, fashion, justice, and screen and media. The campus is also home to the Fashion Centre of Excellence, where fashion students undertake a range of courses including applied fashion design and millinery courses and showcase their designs.

As part of an overall major refurbishment to the TAFE, the Fashon Precinct was undergoing a significant refit. Part of the work included a major upgrade to the flooring in the entrance and classrooms.

IA Design architects required a floor finish that was going to be extremely robust as well as provide a decorative ‘industrial’ look to fit the overall aesthetics of the building. 2000m² of Mondeco Rapide (PUMMA Terrazzo) provided exactly this.

Resin-based terrazzos are the most robust and long-lasting of all resin floor finishes. The seamless nature allowed this to be applied throughout the facility providing a uniform seamless finish. Various grades of non-slip finish were incorporated across the floors from a P3 to a P5 slip-resistant finish to ensure safety in wet areas. A grey tone was selected with locally sourced white marble as the main aggregate.
